March 28, 2022

A benefit dinner organized by Justice For All Canada featuring Muslim activist groups from across Canada inspired a night of solidarity, and fundraising to defend the human rights of vulnerable minorities around the globe. Mehmet Tohti, the executive director of the Uyghur Rights Advocacy Project, was awarded the Uyghur Advocate of the Year Award from Justice For All Canada.

The event featured outstanding Canadian Human Rights Leaders and Advocates with awards for their activist work in the Rohingya, Uyghurs, Kashmiris, and Indian Muslim causes. Amongst those present included the honorable Canadian MP Michael Chong; professor and human rights leader Dr. Aliya Khan, and CEO of Justice For All Imam Abdul Malik Mujahid.

The Uyghur Rights Advocacy Project would like to publicly acknowledge and thank the team of Justice For All Canada for their vital work in honouring Uyghur activists, advancing global human rights for Muslim groups, and hosting the benefit dinner to further these causes. URAP will continue to work alongside JFA Canada to advocate the Uyghur persecution by the hands of the Chinese government.
