URAP HOSTS UYGHUR LEGAL SUMMIT

On July 3-6, 2023, URAP is hosting our inaugural legal summit in Lac St-Jean, Quebec with a team of legal experts to evaluate, develop and strategize on legal options in pursuit of justice and security for Uyghurs worldwide. 

Legal experts and Uyghur activists from the UK, US and Canada will deliberate on legal initiatives to advance Uyghur advocacy at the international institutional level through a range of UN bodies and offices; legal options to combat forced labour; and domestic action through civil lawsuits, criminal prosecutions and targeted sanctions to address Chinese interference and transnational repression. URAP is hopeful that the summit will produce a substantive and robust legal framework for the coming years of advocacy for Uyghurs.
