Ottawa, Canada – The Uyghur Rights Advocacy Project extends its heartfelt congratulations to Mehmet Tohti, Executive Director of the Uyghur Rights Advocacy Project, on his recent recognition for receiving the King Charles III Coronation Medal. This award commemorates Mr. Tohti’s unwavering dedication to defending Uyghur human rights.
Mehmet Tohti has been a tireless advocate for justice, shedding light on the plight of Uyghurs and working to hold the People’s Republic of China accountable. His leadership and relentless commitment to truth, justice, and human dignity continue to inspire human rights defenders worldwide.
We also extend our gratitude to Member of Parliament Sameer Zuberi for presenting this meaningful recognition. Mr. Tohti expresses his sincere appreciation for receiving this honor from one of the most dedicated and hardworking Members of Parliament. Over the years, Mr. Tohti has collaborated with Mr. Zuberi on critical initiatives, such as M-62, resettling vulnerable Uyghur communities, providing urgent global assistance, and conveying vital messages to decision-makers and policymakers in the Government of Canada. Mr. Tohti commends MP Zuberi’s unwavering commitment to diverse communities, emphasizing that his dedication has rightfully earned him respect and trust.
